Dorota Chojnowska Balcerzyk
Dr. Dorota Chojnowska-Balcerzyk graduated Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Warsaw. Works as a psychiatrist since 1992, specializing in General Adult Psychiatry. Completed a three-year Course in Individual and Group Psychotherapy at the Psychoeducation Laboratory (Laboratorium Psychoedukacji) in Warsaw. In 2013, graduated from 1,5 years course of Crisis Intervention Treatment in Psychological Help Workshop in Sopot In 2016, graduated from Postgraduate course in Psychodietetic studies in SWPS Univeristy in Warsaw. Joined the team of the Synapsis Centre in 1998.

Between 2002 and 2004 held the positions of Clinical Director of the Synapsis Centre and Member of the Executive Board of the Synapsis Group. Currently works as Medical Director in Synapsis Centre.
Between 2005 and 2009 worked as Consultant Psychiatrist in the town of Watford in Hertfordshire in England, treating mental disorders in adults in the Watford and Bushey Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and in the psychiatric ward (Shrodells Unit) of Watford General Hospital; she was employed by the Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust
During her work in the Community Mental Health Team in Watford she was leading a team of psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses and social workers; provided psychiatric training to General Practitioners and coordinated psychiatric training of General Practitioners in the Watford area.
In December 2009 returned to Poland to resume work as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist at the Synapsis Centre in Warsaw for training and experience purposes, periodically she goes back to work in UK in places like Liverpool, Oxford and Amersham, she works there in Crisis Intervention teams.
Fluent speaker of English, able to provide psychiatric treatment and psychotherapeutic services both in Polish and in English.
